ZIFA Northern Region Division One side ZRP FC got a timely boost when they received a full kit and tracksuits from funeral services provider Moonlight yesterday.

The Police outfit is in the race for top-flight league promotion where they were relegated at the end of the 2013 season.

Speaking at the handover ceremony, Moonlight Funeral Services chief executive officer Makina Chomi said they are happy to sponsor soccer.

“Once again it’s time to redeem our pledge and this time it is coming in the form of a soccer kit and tracksuits for the players. We want the team to concentrate on the pitch.

“We will sit down and review what we can offer in the near feature. Football is one of our many social investments initiatives and we thank ZRP FC for their wisdom and guidance that they always provided and we have reached consensus on the branding of the kit,” said Chomi.

Chomi called on the corporate sector to step up and intervene to help promote sport.

“May I take this opportunity to call upon the corporate sector to step in, intervene and help? We have made a good start but soccer and other sports need assistance,” Chomi said.

ZRP FC chairman Tanyanyiwa Mhekiya said they are happy with the sponsorship.

“It is a pleasure to be associated with Moonlight Funeral Services.

“Our partnership dates back to 2010 when we got promotion it was Moonlight who helped and now that we are seeking promotion it is Moonlight again who are behind us,” Mhekiya said.

ZRP FC formerly Black Mambas are now under the guidance of Arthur Tutani and they are third on the log standings having played 11 games to date.
