A visiting delegation of Namibian Police Services officers has hailed the Zimbabwe Republic Police for maintaining high standards of professionalism and developing strategies for countering the debilitating effects of the illegal Western sanctions.Speaking during a tour of the ZRP Support Unit farm in Mt Hampden on Monday, head of delegation Senior Commissioner Johanna Ndahafa Ngondo said: “The Zimbabwe Republic Police is standing tall in the region in terms of policing and our main purpose is to learn from them so that we copy and do it in our country.
“We want to learn how they have been coping under adverse conditions which came as a result of sanctions. We appreciate what the ZRP is doing in terms of running projects to sustain their operations. We are also facing financial challenges and we have to find ways of funding our operations in much the same way the ZRP is doing here in Zimbabwe.”
The 17-member delegation is in the country to share knowledge and experiences on policing issues and training.
