THE Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) Nkulumane District today (Thursday) launches its Client Service Charter at Pumula Shopping Centre in a move aimed at strengthening community trust, improving accountability and enhancing the fight against crime.
Acting Officer Commanding Nkulumane District, Superintendent Sifiso Siziba, will preside over the event, which begins at Intemba Roundabout with a procession to Pumula Shopping Centre, where he is expected to deliver the keynote address.
The procession will feature police units from various departments, including the Canine Section, Mounted Unit and motorbike patrol teams, alongside members of Neighbourhood Watch Committees.
The march will also be accompanied by the Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Services band and drum majorettes from local schools, adding a community and ceremonial element to the occasion.
The unveiling of the charter marks a deliberate move towards a more transparent, responsive and citizen-centred policing model, where service standards, public expectations and institutional obligations are clearly outlined.
By setting measurable service delivery benchmarks, the initiative is expected to strengthen relations between the police and the public — an essential component in intelligence gathering, crime prevention and swift response to criminal activity.
The service charter is also expected to promote closer cooperation between residents and law enforcement agencies, ensuring communities become active partners in maintaining peace, security and public order.
