ZRP on a fundraising programme to build a new school in Ntabazinduna, Mat North

THE Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) will this weekend host a fundraising golf tournament to raise funds for the construction of the state-of-the-art ZRP Umguza High School in Matabeleland North Province.

The boarding school, which will be built near Ntabazinduna, approximately 40 kilometres from Bulawayo, is expected to expand access to quality education and complement the existing ZRP High School in Hatcliffe, Harare.

The fundraising initiative forms part of efforts to mobilise resources for the development of the institution, which is envisaged to become a centre of educational excellence serving learners from across the country.

The Commissioner- General of Police, Stephen Mutamba, recently presided over the groundbreaking ceremony of the Police boarding school, ZRP Umguza High School in Ntabazinduna.

In a statement, national police spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi said, “The Zimbabwe Republic Police is spearheading the construction of ZRP Umguza High School, a new boarding school located in Matabeleland North Province, approximately 40 kilometres from Bulawayo near Ntabazinduna. Upon completion, ZRP Umguza High School will complement the esteemed ZRP High School in Hatcliffe, Harare, and further enhance the Zimbabwe Republic Police’s contribution to the provision of quality education in the country.

“As part of the fundraising initiatives for this important educational project, a Fundraising Golf Tournament will be held on June 27, 2026 from 7 am to 8:30 pm at Gweru Sports Club. The tournament is expected to attract golfers from across the country, with numerous prizes and exciting awards on offer for the winners and participants.”

Comm Nyathi said the public, corporate organisations, stakeholders and golf enthusiasts were cordially invited to participate in and support this noble cause.
