BULAWAYO Polytechnic College is today holding its 97th graduation ceremony, with the event set to be presided over by the Deputy Minister of Higher and Tertiary Education, Innovation, Science and Technology Development, Simelisizwe Sibanda.

Graduands, their families and invited guests have braved the biting Bulawayo cold to attend the graduation ceremony, which is being held under the theme: “Equipping Globally Competitive Human Capital for Rural Industrialisation and Digitalisation.”

Graduands are receiving qualifications in various programmes, including adult and continuing education, applied art and design, applied sciences, automotive engineering, civil engineering, mechanical engineering, and hospitality and tourism.

Students from Binga Industrial Training College and Plumtree Polytechnic are also among those set to graduate at the ceremony.

The graduation comes as the institution continues to contribute to the development of skilled human capital in line with the Government’s thrust of equipping young people with practical skills to drive industrialisation and economic development.
