ZRP women’s club donates groceries

of groceries worth thousands of dollars sourced by the organisation.
The goods will be distributed among surviving spouses and orphans within the police force.
“As the citizens of Zimbabwe, it is our mandate to look after the less privileged in our society. I am therefore challeng­ing various entities to join hands with ZRPKWC to support surviving spouses of members of the security forces for their crucial role in engendering peace in the country,” she said. “This dona­tion comes as a Christmas present to them so as to show that we fully sup­port them. Although it is not enough        . . . it makes a difference to them.”
Mrs Chihuri also emphasised the need to support the surviving spouses by donating towards the various proj­ects they are currently running.
“What these families need is mutual support so that they don’t really feel the void that was left behind by their bread winners. As ZRPKWC we are there to help them acquire practical skills so that they can earn a living through var­ious projects that they are running. They are now involved in different projects — such as poultry, baking, sewing, candle making and farming among others,” said Mrs Chihuri.
