THE Zimbabwe Rugby Union (ZRU) is expected to start filling vacant age-group coaching staff posts soon, with the entire process expected to be wrapped up by year-end.
In an interview with The Sunday Mail Sport, chief executive officer Sifiso Made the process would be above board.
“It is unfortunate that the Covid-19 pandemic led to our failure to go to Craven Week this year,” said Made.
“However, what you need to understand is that our coaches are given two years with each team, and the current contracts were coming to an end this month.
“The termination of contracts, at its core, is simply re-aligning our structures, as all age-group coaches serve at the pleasure of the president (of ZRU) and technical committee.
“What this means is that it is their prerogative to move whomever they feel may be better served elsewhere, and nobody has been discarded.
“They are free to re-apply,” he said.
