The Zimbabwe Tourism Authority (ZTA) at the weekend endorsed Private Lounge as one of the best entertainment joints in the country. The national tourism marketing agency honoured the club with a special recognition award at the just-ended Sanganai/Hlanganani Tourism Expo. The award which recognises those who provide high quality entertainment was given to Private Lounge on a night that Civil Aviation Authority of Zimbabwe was the overall winner.
ZTA chief executive officer Karikoga Kaseke said buyers at the annual expo voted Private Lounge’s stand as the best. “Our buyers made this choice, they voted Private Lounge as having the most outstanding stand using their experience and how they were treated during the expo,” said Kaseke.
Private Lounge started operations in Bulawayo recently. Its proprietor Biggie Chinoperekwei said the award was a result of their great contribution to the tourism industry.
“We feel vindicated and humbled by this gesture. This award is an endorsement by top tourism players and CEOs who are well-travelled and understand the business of hospitality.
“This recognition means we are moving in the right direction as a country. Why should we stay behind when other countries are advancing? These international buyers are saying this is what tourism consumers want. As a company we will continue to strive to be as international as possible and to contribute meaningfully to the tourism industry,” said Chinoperekwei.
Sanganai/Hlanganani Tourism Expo will once again be held in Bulawayo next year.
