Train party for Sikhonjwa @40

COMEDIAN Babongile Sikhonjwa who turns 40 today says he is delighted with his life so much that he wants to celebrate his birthday in style with a train party. Perhaps the first of its kind, the train party is set to be held on Saturday with 300 invited guests expected to travel from Bulawayo to Figtree. There will be a secret location where revellers will disembark and party the night away before returning to Bulawayo to finish off the night at Casino Bar.

Ballers League DJs will provide entertainment during the journey with a beast from Sikhonjwa’s family set to be slaughtered for the festivities. There is a dance coach, two passenger coaches for those who want to sit and one sleeper coach.

Sikhonjwa said he was grateful to be alive and wanted to celebrate. “I want to make sure that I party hard because I almost lost my life at 38. People say you live once but I believe you live everyday and only die once,” said Sikhonjwa. “I’m also urging all those born in 1976, to come out and party.” He said he wished that for his 40th birthday a statue would be made and erected for him.

“I’m also overjoyed and humbled by the fact that I’m turning 40 and Highlanders Football Club is turning 90 in the same year. Perhaps it’s a hint that I should be part of the executive very soon. I also want someone to make a statue of me like the one for Vice President Joshua Nkomo. Instead of a stick they should put a microphone in my hand,” he chuckled.

“It should be erected along Robert Mugabe Way because it’s the entertainment zone of the city. You find nightspots such as Stunts, Greys Inn, Hartsfield Tshisa Nyama, Cape to Cairo, The Lounge, Lagondola, Club Forty 40 and 747 on that street.”
