Zuma praised for solidarity

PRESIDENT Mugabe yesterday hailed his South African counterpart President Jacob Zuma for sending a high powered delegation to the Zanu-PF 16th Annual National People’s Conference led by his deputy Cde Cyril Ramaphosa.

Officially closing the conference in Masvingo, President Mugabe extended his thanks to other liberation movements that presented solidarity messages at the gathering.

“We also acknowledge our comrades, representatives of fellow liberation movements and parties especially the ANC and President Zuma for sending us that high powered delegation which was led by his Vice-President,” said President Mugabe.

“We thank them a lot. Thank you for your warm solidarity and the message that you delivered. December 12 and Frelimo.”

South Africa Deputy President Cde Cyril Ramaphosa who was representing the ANC at the conference paid tribute to the party saying they envied Zanu-PF and would continue engaging the party for guidance.

Representative of the December 12 Movement, Cde Chimurenga revealed that as a grouping they would continue their support for President Mugabe and the ruling Zanu-PF.

The conference that started on Tuesday, was running under the theme, “Moving with Zim-Asset in Peace and Unity.”
