HARARE Premiership giants CAPS United and their player Hardlife Zvirekwi have been found guilty of contravening the football rules during a Castle Lager Premier Soccer League match against Buffaloes at Gwanzura in April this year.
In a judgment released yesterday, CAPS United were found guilty of failing to control their fans while Zvirekwi was found guilty of pouring urine on the Buffaloes technical area.
He was slapped with a US$2 500 fine.
The PSL disciplinary committee, chaired by Don Moyo, sitting with Brighton Mudzamiri and Vusi Vuma, found the Green Machine guilty of failing to control their rowdy fans who threw missiles onto the pitch.
“CAPS United is hereby ordered to pay a fine of US$1 750, US$250 of which is suspended for the rest of the season on condition CAPS United are not convicted of any offence involving crowd trouble, more specifically its supporters,” the judgment read.
“The effective fine of US$1 500 together with the costs of hearing, is to be paid by 31 August 2014,” read part of the judgment on CAPS United.
Moyo and his committee found Zvirekwi guilty.
“Hardlife Zvirekwi be and is hereby ordered to pay a fine of US$2 500, US$500 of which is suspended for the rest of the season on condition he is not convicted of any offence where he behaves in a manner which brings the league or any of its sponsors into disrepute.
“The effective fine of US$2 000 together with costs of hearing should be paid by 31st August 2014,” read the judgment.
