Zvitsva leads police to victims’ shallow graves

Away from the glare of many media organisations, arrested Guruve serial killer Anymore Zvitsva has been leading indications and subsequent exhumations of the remains of some of the people he allegedly killed.

Tempers are flaring and tears cascading down cheeks of many relatives and villagers as they witness Zvitsva freely pointing, with shocking precision, at shallow graves he buried his victims.

Last weekend Zvitsva led to the exhumation of two bodies — a woman Charity Karembera (24) and her four months old son, Tendai — on the outskirts of Sahondo Village, Mavare area, some 30km south-west of Guruve.

They went missing on the morning of March 25, 2025 while on their way to the garden.

Villagers were shocked by Zvitsva’s precision when pointing at the shallow, but firmly secured graves of Charity and her son Tendai, more than 10 months after he allegedly killed them.

The graves were about 100 metres apart but less than 300 metres from their homestead in Sahondo Village.

Later, Zvitsva also led to the exhumation of two bodies, one on each side of a bridge at Kambani Farm, near Chihwe, some 45km from Guruve centre along the Guruve-Raffingora Highway.

Zvitsva is giving directions from a stretcher bed carried by security officers, since his leg was shot and badly injured during his arrest.

It is believed that some of the victims are not part of the 19 deaths announced by police after his arrest.

The indications and exhumations continue.

Zvitsva is expected in court of January 19 for official indictment.
