Zwane confident Chiefs will retain focus

JOHANNESBURG. – Kaizer Chiefs head coach Arthur Zwane is confident his players will remain focused during an extended break due to the Qatar World Cup.

Chiefs will break for a few weeks after their final match of the first half of the season against Orlando Pirates in the Carling Black Label Cup at FNB Stadium on Saturday.

Amakhosi, who have Khama Billiat in their fold, then are set to return to action on December 31 when they visit Golden Arrows for a DStv Premiership clash. The Soweto giants are currently in fourth position in the standings with 21 points after 13 matches played.

“We are going on recess,” Zwane said.

“We will play our next game on the 31st of December, so we are going to keep our boys focused,” Zwane said.

“We know at that time of the year we receive bonuses, and there’s so much going on during that time of the year.

SuperSport United coach Gavin Hunt wants the club to be consistent and return to CAF club competitions. The club is led by Zimbabwe international Onismor Bhasera, who is the skipper.

“So we want to keep them focused. I am so happy to work with these guys, they are disciplined, focused and they know what they want.

“They are dedicated, and they want to succeed which is very key.”

Several top-flight players have gone on holiday already for the World Cup break, with striker Thamsanqa Gabuza spotted in Cape Town. – KickOff.com
