THE title race is turning into a three-team fight, with Correctional Queens, Chapungu Queens and Herentals Queens all claiming wins over the weekend to keep their championship hopes alive.
Correctional Queens remain top on 52 points after 19 matches, three clear of Chapungu, who have played the same number of games.

Herentals sit third on 44 points but have two games in hand, keeping them firmly in contention for both the title and the coveted Cosafa Women’s Champions League ticket.
Correctional Queens edged Kwekwe Queens 2-1, with Ashley Mutonga breaking the deadlock in the 18th minute before Kudzanai Chiparaushe doubled the lead early in the second half. Anita Ncube pulled one back for Kwekwe shortly after the break.
Herentals kept the pressure on with a narrow 1-0 victory away to Mpopoma Sports Academy at Ascot Racecourse on Friday. Polite Mabika converted a first half penalty to seal the points.
Chapungu also did just enough, grinding out a 1-0 win against Cranborne Royals to stay second. Team manager Theodora Chabika praised her players for breaking down a stubborn opponent.
“We suffered a bit as the visitors kept a tight defensive formation, but I am happy because we managed to find a breakthrough. It was an exciting match filled with moments of high intensity,” said Chabika.
She added that preparations have already started for their next fixture as Chapungu aim to close the gap on Correctional.
Elsewhere, Harare City Queens powered past Highlanders Royals 5-2 in Bulawayo, while Black Rhinos thrashed Platinum Royals 5-0.
