Blessings Chidakwa in Gokwe
A total of 1 726 people were employed during preparations for the 45th main Independence Day celebrations in Gokwe North, Zanu PF Midlands provincial chairperson, Cde Edson Chihengere has said.
Cde Chihengere said the milestone event created jobs and boosted economic activity in the district.
“I applaud Zimbabweans for coming in numbers to support us in hosting the 45th main Independence celebrations,” he said.
The provincial chairman said the commemorations will leave a lasting legacy through improved infrastructure.
“As Gokwe North, we have benefitted from road rehabilitation, the construction of schools, and borehole drilling,” he said.
He said the celebrations are a testament of unity and development under the Second Republic.
