Six die in Karoi accident

SIX people died yesterday morning after a Nissan NV van they were travelling in collided with a haulage truck near Corner Store at the 214-kilometre peg along the Harare-Chirundu Road.

Zimbabwe Republic Police spokesperson, Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed the accident.

“The Zimbabwe Republic Police confirms a fatal road traffic accident that occurred on Thursday, 17 April at around 1130 hours along the Harare-Chirundu Road. Six people were killed.

“A haulage truck with no passengers on board was involved in a head-on collision with a Nissan NV 150 vehicle with five passengers on board,” said Commissioner Nyathi.

He said the bodies of the victims were taken to Karoi Hospital Mortuary for post-mortem.
