10 to receive Independence Medals in Bulawayo

BULAWAYO Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Judith Ncube will today award Independence medals to 10 recipients during the Defence Forces Day celebrations at White City Stadium.

The recipients comprise four war veterans, Cde Vitaison Mpofu, Cde Loveletta Nkiwane, Cde Juliet Sibanda and Cde Richard Khehla.

Cde Sidumo Nkomo and Lennie Ndlovu will be honoured as ex-political prisoners, detainees and restrictees, while Cde Getrude Ndlovu and Tedious Msasa will be honoured as non-combatants, an honour given to those who underwent military training but did not take part in actual battle.
Cde Tabitha Mguni and Cde Isaac Dakamela will be honoured as war collaborators.
