A ZIMUNYA man will pay a $100 fine after he maliciously destroyed his neighbour’s maize crop. Charles Dzatsima of Manzununu Village under Chief Zimunya pleaded guilty to the charges of malicious damage of property when he appeared before senior Mutare magistrate, Mrs Sekai Chiundura this week. Dzatsima was accused of planting beans in Marshal Mutimba’s field where he had planted maize.
Representing the State was Mr Fletcher Karombe. “Sometime ago, Dzatsima and Mutimba had a dispute over land boundary and on January 3, Dzatsima proceeded to Mutimba’s field and ploughed it, destroying his maize crop,” said Mr Karombe.
Dzatsima was ordered to pay $100 fine by February 26 or risk 60 days imprisonment. He was also ordered to restitute the complainant $17 for seed maize by February 26.
