100+ players for Queens darts tourney

QUEENS Sports Club will next weekend host a darts tournament that will feature Bulawayo-based teams.
Confirming the tourney, a first of its kind in Bulawayo, Queens’ Darts chairman Daniel Mlambo said the event will start on Friday with the curtain coming down on Sunday. Over 100 players are expected for the fiesta that starts on Friday.
“We kick off on Friday with social games that would be played by those registering on the day and it will give them practice sessions and the playing format will be determined by the number of people that have registered but on Saturday that is when more competitors are expected with most teams from Bulawayo taking part,’’ said Mlambo.

“The tournament is more of a get together for local clubs as we celebrate the game and bring players together.”
The format of play on Saturday would be doubles with winners walking away with monetary rewards.
“We are promoting the growth of the sport and feel this tournament can have a great impact. We will have free inhloko for the players,” said Mlambo.
