THE Zanu-PF Bulawayo provincial youth league executive has organised buses to ferry youths to Harare for the one million-man march in solidarity with President Robert Mugabe.
The march is scheduled for Africa Day, which is marked every year on May 25.
Bulawayo provincial Youth League political commissar Cde Bornface Mutsure said Bulawayo would be sending 100,000 youths for the march as per the target given to each province by their national executive.
“All is set for the one million-man march. As a province we’re sending 100,000 youths and we’ve organised buses to ferry our members to Harare. We’ve had our inter-district meetings where we selected those who will participate in the march,” said Cde Mutsure.
He said the youths would leave Bulawayo on May 24 and return soon after the march on May 25.
Cde Mutsure said they were prepared to march in support of President Mugabe due to his popularity.
He said the President was going to be the party’s candidate in the 2018 presidential poll.
“No politician has such support in the country, so we want to show the President that we’re still behind his leadership and he is our sole candidate for the 2018 elections,” said Cde Mutsure.
He said the solidarity march would also bring youths together so that they shun factionalism.
Cde Mutsure urged youths to desist from unruly behaviour during the march in honour of President Mugabe.
“We need youths to be disciplined when they go for the march.
“They should shun alcoholism because we know most of them are easily overcome by alcohol.
“We don’t want to see them insulting party elders. If we see you doing so we’ll remove you from the march.
“They should remember that they’re marching in solidarity with the President who’s respected in the whole of Africa,” he said.
