THIRTEEEN models have managed to secure their spots in the final of this year’s edition of Mr Teen Zimbabwe which is set to be held at the end of the month.
The contestants for the third edition are Trevor Nedziwe (Harare), Abel Mugari (Harare), Whatmos Manamike (Kwekwe), Carlton Dzumbunu (Harare), Hope Gamba (Harare), Farai Chigumbu (Gweru), Kundai Matemba (Kwekwe), Tadiwa Gabwi (Bulawayo), Marqus Makwara (Harare), Edwin Maseko (Bulawayo), Ngoni Mpofu (Harare), David Takavarasha (Kwekwe) and Prince Ruwizhi (Gweru).
The aim of the pageant is to promote and uplift male models aged 14 to 19. However, 20-year-olds will be accommodated as the event was shelved last year.
Pageant founder Ishmael “The Crown Hunter” Murangandi said:
“Mr Teen Zimbabwe was born in 2020 targeting young school boys in a bid to hub them from drug abuse and many other teen mischiefs. My aim was to groom them to be leaders in their school, and different communities.
“The first winner was Zibusiso Ndlovu in 2020 from Bulawayo then Moregain Matutu from Gweru in 2021. 2022 was a busy year for me so l couldn’t host the pageant but this year we are crowning two teen Kings in a quest to cover for 2022. Everything is going very well for the grand finale,” said The Crown Hunter.
He said the emerging overall winner will represent Zimbabwe at Mr Teenager Universe to be held in February next year at a venue yet to be announced.
