147 868 common diarrhoea cases recorded

A total of 7 176 common diarrhoea cases were reported for the week ending June 9, 2024, with 3 244 cases reported in children under the age of five.

However, no deaths were recorded during the period under review.

This brings the cumulative cases to 147 868 and 49 deaths.

According to the Ministry of Health and Child Care disease surveillance report, Mashonaland West and Mashonaland East Provinces had the highest number of cases.

“The provinces that reported the highest number of cases were Mashonaland West Province (1 068 cases) and Mashonaland East Province (1 035 cases),” said the Ministry.
