16 months old boy drowns in rubbish pit

A 16 months old boy drowned in a water logged rubbish pit at a house in Epworth as he was playing.

National police spokesperson, Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed the incident which occurred on December 18, 2024.

“The ZRP reports a sad incident in which a 16 months old baby boy drowned in a water logged rubbish pit on December 18 at a house in Overspill, Epworth.

“The victim was playing outside the house while his mother was doing household chores,” he said.
