17 drug dealers arrested

In a bold move to combat the escalating drugs crisis, police have named 17 drug dealers arrested during a nationwide crackdown between January 8 and yesterday, highlighting the authorities’ commitment to tackling drug-related crime.

National police spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi said the alleged dealers were arrested across the country and will appear in court. 

Tafadzwa Kagande (37) from Horning Close, The Grange, was caught in January with a staggering 251kg of mbanje.

Wadzanai Siyamachira (38), of 97th Street, Warren Park D, Harare, was nabbed for possessing 3g of cocaine, while Yeukai Sandra Bangajena (34) of Witchens Farm, Banket, faced charges for having a trove of unregistered medicines.

Blessing Phiri (27), from Block B 13, Matererini Flats, Mbare, was found with 5g crystal meth, and Sheena Mugwagwa (36) of Area 16, Dangamvura, Mutare, was arrested for unlawful possession of 50g of crystal meth.

Kalisto Bisenti (45) of Jongwe Road, Mufakose, had 19g crystal meth, Tatenda Rusere (38), alias Jack, of Glen View 2, had 23g of cocaine, Morgan Kadungure (26) from Glenwood near Epworth, and Pride Ezra Madamombe were apprehended at a security checkpoint along the Beitbridge-Masvingo Road with 34kg of mbanje.

Elizabeth Masando (39) from Mbare, was caught on February 5 with unregistered medicines.

Sandra Tirivangani (35) and Perpetua Madamombe (30), also from Mbare, were arrested for possessing 136 sachets of skunky  dagga.
