Gwanda man arrested after police recover 102 dagga plants

POLICE have arrested a Gwanda man for cultivating dagga, after 102 plants were recovered from his farm.

Matabeleland South provincial police spokesperson Inspector Chiratidzo Dube confirmed the incident which occurred in Kafusi area. She said the suspect is Nuni Ngulube.

“On 12 March 2026, at around 11am police received information to the effect that accused was cultivating dagga at his farm in Village 6, Kafusi area near Kafusi River. A follow-up was made and accused freely and voluntarily led detectives to the farm where a total of 102 plants were seen planted scattered around the farm where there are also maize plants surrounding the dagga. The plants’ heights range from approximately 1m-2m.

They were recovered and uprooted in the presence of the accused,” she said.
