2 Dynamos supporters die in road accident

Twelve of the supporters escaped with injuries from the accident that occurred at the 15km peg along the Mbalabala-Zvishavane Road at 10.45 am.
Dynamos went on to beat FC Platinum 1-0 at Mandava Stadium in the asbestos mining town.

Speaking at the scene of the accident, a policeman said the kombi, which was carrying the Dynamos supporters burst its rear left tyre, causing the driver to lose control.
“The driver lost control of the vehicle and it overturned and rolled over twice before landing on its side,” said the policeman.

“One person died on the spot, while the other died on arrival at Filabusi District Hospital.”
There were 14 people in the kombi and the 12 who were injured were taken to Filabusi District Hospital and later on referred to United Bulawayo Hospitals (UBH).

Their condition could not be ascertained last night.
The names of the deceased were withheld because their next of kin had not yet been informed.
