A Fort Rixon Grade Four pupil was allegedly raped four times by her two neighbours, who each promised to give her $1 and a packet of biscuits as payment. Xolani Ngwenya, 21, and Twoboy Ncube, 20 raped the 11-year-old girl on different occasions.
Ngwenya appeared before regional magistrate Chrispen Mberewere yesterday facing one count of rape and denied the charge.
“I didn’t rape the girl. I only saw her for a short time when she was on her way home,” said Ngwenya.
Magistrate Mberewere remanded him in custody to March 9.
Prosecuting Trust Muduma told the court that on February 16 at 2 PM, Ngwenya followed the girl while she was herding cattle and goats with two other juveniles.
He then led the girl to secluded spot and raped her once.
Ngwenya allegedly tried to buy her silence by promising her a $1 and biscuits.
The girl later informed her uncle about what had happened leading to Ngwenya’s arrest.
Ncube who is in custody is set to appear in a separate court facing three counts of raping the same minor.
Allegations are that Ncube who comes from Lower Gwelo met the girl on an unknown date during December 2014.
He allegedly fondled her breasts.
Ncube allegedly dragged the girl to a nearby bush where he undressed her before raping her once.
