20 shoppers walk away with vehicles in Choppies draw

TWENTY lucky Choppies Supermarket shoppers yesterday walked away with cars during the supermarket’s Save Big and Drive promotion draw.

The draw was held at Choppies Aaromart branch at the Bulawayo Centre shopping mall. Customers were supposed to buy any participating products worth $3 going upwards.

Present at the draw were Vice-President Cde Phelekezela Mphoko, Bulawayo Provincial Affairs Minister Cde Eunice Sandi Moyo, Zimpapers board chairperson Mr Delma Lupepe, Choppies Zimbabwe director Mr Siqokoqela Mphoko and other guests from different companies.

Speaking during the ceremony, VP Mphoko said Choppies is giving back to the community by awarding them with cars.

“Choppies is giving back to the community because it is a shop for all the people; it is giving people what they paid for. The shop sells goods at low prices because they know all people are affected by economic hardships, Choppies has 24 shops in the country. To all the winners I say congratulations,” he said.

While others won Datsun vehicles, Ms Ratidzai Ushe from Nkulumane won the grand prize which was a Nissan NP200 and paid gratitude to Choppies.

“I am so happy that I won this car though I never expected to win. I thank Choppies for what they have done for me,” she said.

Choppies Zimbabwe director Mr Mphoko also paid gratitude to all the participants.

“I thank all the participants and also VP Mphoko for spending more than four hours with us here. I thank the Government for giving us an opportunity to trade in the country. We give people value for their money; most of the winners who won are the disadvantaged people who cannot afford to buy a car, so as Choppies we are giving back to the community,” he said.

Choppies ran the promotion in collaboration with MedTech, Unilever, Nestle, National Foods ,Straitia Beverages, Schweppes, Tanganda, United Refineries, African Distillers, Brands Africa, Exclusive Brands, Probands, Lions, Innscor, Grain Marketing Board, Delta Beverages and Blue Ribbon Mega Market.
