Five of two hundred trees that are set for the Harare mayoral mansion were planted on Tuesday, while 25 junior councillors received 40 indigenous trees for their wards from SPAR Zimbabwe.
Speaking at the SPAR Zimbabwe 2025 tree planting in partnership with My Trees, CABS and Harare City Junior Council at the mayoral mansion today, SPAR Zimbabwe general manager Mr Cypren Borerwe said the indigenous trees are more than saplings as they represent cleaner air, richer soil and a healthier future for generations to come.
“Today we are planting hope-1 200 indigenous trees that will grow alongside our communities. They connect us to our heritage and to the land that sustains us,” he said.
Mr Borerwe thanked CABS and My Trees for the partnership.
Last year, SPAR Zimbabwe planted 2 000 trees at Budiriro 7 Primary School.
