The country, which was granted permission to unconditionally export its diamonds from the Marange fields in Manicaland province by the Kimberley Process Certification Scheme in November last year, had two of its diamond mining companies, Marange Resources and Mbada Diamond Mining that are operating in Marange, placed under sanctions by the United States the following month.
