Zinara descends on errant motorists

THE Zimbabwe National Road Administration (Zinara) has sent Bulawayo motorists into a panic mode after deploying its technologically advanced vehicle, which can instantly detect vehicles without licence discs and those with fakes.
Since the deployment of the vehicle on Tuesday, scores of vehicles have been impounded.
The hi-tech vehicle that Zinara handed over to the police recently, detects vehicles whose drivers are at fault, through a sensor placed on the side of the road.
Yesterday the vehicle was stationed at the intersection of Basch Street and 3rd Avenue Extension.

Industries in Bulawayo are under siege which has seen scores of companies closing down and thousands of people being rendered jobless. Once the industrial hub of the country and the region with thousands of people streaming from all parts in search of jobs, Bulawayo is now a pale shadow of its former self.
Govt to set mandatory regulations for teachers

THE Government is working on making mandatory that all teachers should have passed Mathematics at Ordinary Level as it moves to improve the standard of education in the country.
However, there is still debate among stakeholders on whether to adopt the suggestion.
Mathematics has always been a requirement for one to enrol in primary school teacher training colleges.
In an interview yesterday, the Minister of Education, Sport, Arts and Culture, David Coltart, said nothing concrete had been agreed on but his ministry has engaged stakeholders with a view to improve education standards in the country.
