2015 public holidays gazetted

Home Affairs Minister Kembo Mohadi has gazetted public holidays for 2015.
The announcement is contained in a Government Gazette published on Friday in terms of Public Holidays and Prohibition of Business Act.“It is hereby notified for public information that the days listed in the Schedule will be public holidays in 2015 in terms of section 2 (1) of the Public Holidays and Prohibition of Business Act (Chapter 10:21),” read the notice.

“The list does not include any days which the President may declare to be public holidays in terms of section 2(2) of the Act.”

According to the notice, New Year’s Day will fall on a Thursday, January 1, 2015 followed by Good Friday on April 3 and then Easter Saturday, April 4.

Sunday, April 5 would also be a holiday followed by Easter Monday on April 6.

Independence Day will fall on Saturday, April 18, while Workers Day will be on Friday, May 1.

There will be Africa Day that will be commemorated on Monday, May 25, before Heroes and Defence Forces National Day on Monday, August 10 and Tuesday, August 11 respectively.

National Unity Day will be commemorated on Tuesday, December 22, while Christmas Day will be held on Friday, December 25, followed by a Public Holiday on Saturday, December 26.
