2024 All Africa Golf Team Championship (AAGTC) tees off in Bulawayo

THE 2024 All Africa Golf Team Championship (AAGTC) has kicked off at Bulawayo Golf Club this morning.
It is a biennial tournament which features the best amateur golfers on the continent.
It is the pinnacle of golf in Africa and its significance parallels that of the Africa Cup of Nations in football and the Rugby Africa Cup.
Eleven countries are participating at this year’s event which is hosted at Bulawayo Golf Club.
Zimbabwe last hosted this tournament in 2017 at the majestic Elephant Hills Golf Course in Victoria Falls.
The 11 participating countries at this year’s edition are Botswana, Egypt, Eswatini, Gabon, Kenya, Malawi, Mauritius, South Africa, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
A new champion will be crowned this year after defending champions, Morocco pulled out.
The North Africans dethroned perennial winners South Africa at the 2022 edition that was hosted by Egypt.
