NEW: 2024 cotton marketing season kicks off

The 2024 cotton marketing season has been launched and will run from June 6 to July 6.

During Thursday’s launch, Agriculture Marketing Authority (AMA) chief executive officer, Mr Clever Isaya said: “I am delighted to officially launch the commencement of the 2024 seed cotton marketing season.

“A network of 647 common buying points have been established across all cotton growing areas, comprising of 164 permanent points and a multitude of mobile points.”

Mr Isaya said the buying points serve as the crucial link between cotton producers and the market.

AMA is working closely with all registered cotton contractors to ensure a seamless marketing season.

Their collaboration will streamline processes, enhance efficiency and uphold the integrity of the industry.

The minimum seed cotton prices will range from US$0.43kg (Grade A), US$0.39kg (Grade B), US$0.36kg (Grade C) and US$0.32kg (Grade D).
