ORGANISERS of the 2004 Zimbabwe Cup Clash have extended registration of participants vying for the year’s edition to pave the way for more contestants to enter.
The talent search show will be held on August 31 at City Sports Centre in Harare.

The event, which coincides with the last day of the Zimbabwe Agricultural Show, is set to parade 100 sound systems and more than 50 newcomers.

Event organiser Partson “Chipaz” Chimbodza said registration was still in progress.

“After rebranding from Harare Cup Clash to Zimbabwe Cup Clash, the event now has a national appeal,” he said.

“It is no longer a Harare show but rather a national event where talented people should be given the platform.

“We are considering finalising registration a day before the main event.”

Chipaz, who promised lots of prizes at the event, assured winners that they would not leave empty-handed

“The cup clash has become a game-changer in showbiz because of what it offers,” he said.

“Being a premier Zimdancehall fiesta, we will do our best to ensure new talent is unearthed and empowered.

“As a promoter, my dream is to leave a legacy and ensure that I change lives.”

This year’s edition is a bit special in that the Chillspot Family will be celebrating their 12th anniversary at the event.

Chillspot Family leader, DJ Fantan, urged fans to show up in numbers.

“The registration is going on well. We are happy with the response that we are getting,” he said.

“We are open to all creatives who are willing to showcase their talent and celebrate with us on this special day.

“It will be our 12th anniversary as well.”

Similar sentiments were echoed by Zimdanceall exponent, Godfatha Templeman, who hailed the Zimbabwe Cup Clash as a game-changer, which should not be undermined.

“It is a big event where new stars will be born,” he said. “We urge youngsters to show up in numbers.

“As usual I am going to be one of the people presiding over the contest and we wish the deserving candidates to win.”

Godfatha Templeman has been working closely with Chipaz Promotions and Chillspot Family in nurturing new talents over the years.

Fireworks are expected at this year’s event judging by the video drops from various participants hyping up the event.
