House-Kwasa singer defies life-threatening injury

HOUSE-KWASA musician, Wonesai Chimwanambo, says she is seeing God’s favour after being involved in a career-threatening road accident in 2012.
Chimwanambo, who struggled with a fractured spinal cord, hip bone, and collar bone for years, recalled how she almost gave up.

“I was involved in an accident about 12 years ago and l almost died. It was by God’s grace that I am still alive and I am grateful to God for saving my life,” she said

“I have been doing music and performing at national events along with my daughter Shylet Chimwanambo who remains my pillar.”

Born and bred in Mpopoma, Bulawayo, Chimwanambo who has recorded three albums said she was humbled by the support she was getting countrywide.

“It is not easy to be embraced by fans countrywide as they believe in quality,” she said.

“I just cherish the support I get wherever I go. After sharing my story with my followers, they see the grace of the Lord.

“Prayer has done wonders for me and I always preach the eternal gospel of having faith in God.”

Chimwanambo is currently working on a House-Kwasa album. She released her debut album titled “Mbiri Kunashe” in 2016.

In 2017, she released two albums – “Zvasiyana” and “Uta Nemiseve” – winning the hearts of gospel fans.

To ensure that her music appeals to young generations, Chimwanambo has been experimenting with new sounds.

Early this year she scooped two gongs at the All-Female Awards in Zimbabwe (ALFAAZ) held in Harare.

She won the Best Female and Best House-Kwasa awards at the event.
