PUBLIC consultations for ordinary citizens’ submissions for the 2027 national budget kicked off countrywide, with Manicaland Province holding meetings at Watsomba in Mutasa District and Mutare Hall today.
The meetings are being spearheaded by the Portfolio Committee on Budget, Finance, Economic Development and Investment Promotion’s four teams across the country.
During the consultation meetings, members of the public expressed mixed views as they called for increased funding towards healthcare services, combating drug and substance abuse as well as establishment of rehabilitation centres.
The submissions also urged Government to leverage on mineral resources and land appropriation to broaden revenue and tax collection.
The public consultation meetings continue tomorrow in Chimanimani and on Wednesday in Chisumbanje
