The Zanu-PF Youth League has begun to fund-raise for the 21st February Movement to be held in Victoria Falls next month to mark the President’s 91st birthday. In a statement last week, the  Youth League said a fund-raising committee had been set up comprising its secretary for finance Cde Tongai Kasukuwere, fund-raising co-ordinator Cde Pamela Chitupa and secretary for administration Cde Lewis Matutu.

“The 29th edition of the Zanu-PF 21st February Movement celebrations will be held in the resort town of Victoria Falls in February

2015,” said the statement.

The Youth League will approach donors so that they generously donate to the movement.

“All cash donations, be they at ward, district, provincial or national level, should be deposited into the national 21st February Movement’s account.”

The account number 01122084930021 is held at CBZ Kwame Nkrumah Branch.

The Youth League said donations could also be directed to the Youth League office on the 9th floor at the party’s national headquarters in Harare.

The event is organised by the league annually and rotates between the country’s 10 provinces.

Last year’s edition was held in Marondera, Mashonaland East.

The 21st February Movement commemorations were first held in 1986 and have become an annual event to encourage Zimbabweans, particularly youths, to emulate President Mugabe’s revolutionary ideas, charismatic leadership and selfless policies.

The celebrations coincide with President Mugabe’s birthday on February 21, with the President being the patron of the movement since its establishment.
