3 months jail for possessing crystal meth

A HARARE man has been sentenced to three months in prison for possessing 6,59 grammes of crystal meth with a street value of US$70.

Frudrick Mzilawempi (38) was convicted of unlawful possession of dangerous drugs.

Initially, presiding magistrate Mr Isheunesu Matova sentenced Mzilawempi to six months in prison, with three months suspended on condition that he does not commit any further offences related to unlawful drug possession. Should he reoffend, he will serve the suspended sentence without the option of a fine.
