Mutedza last month yesterday appeared in court charged with murder.
Mutedza was fatally assaulted by rowdy MDC-T supporters at Glen View 3 Shopping Centre on May 28.
His colleague sustained serious injuries.
The pair had gone to investigate an illegal meeting which MDC-T youths were holding at the shopping centre.
This brings to 23, the number of suspects who have appeared in court over the murder case.
Oddrey Sydney Chirombe MDC-T councillor for Ward 33, Budiriro, Jephias Moyo (39), a manager at the MDC-T regalia shop, a member of the party’s security department and Abina Rutsito, who is also in the party’s security department were the latest to be arrested. They were not asked to plead when they appeared before provincial magistrate Mr Kudakwashe Jarabini charged with murder. They were all remanded in custody to June 17 this year.
They were advised to apply bail at the High Court.
Through their lawyers Mr Marufu Mandevere and Mr Jeremiah Bhamu the three complained that they were denied legal representation and that Rutsito was assaulted in police custody.
Appearing for the State Mr Edmore Nyazamba from the Attorney General’s Office said he had noted the complaints and would ensure proper investigations were carried out and results would be tabled in court.
