MORE than 32 000 learners will sit the mid-year Zimbabwe School Examinations Council (Zimsec) public examinations, which begin tomorrow.

Last year, over 26 000 candidates took the exams.

Responding to an inquiry from The Sunday Mail, Zimsec spokesperson Nicollete Dlamini said: “The June 2024 examinations are starting on Monday, 27 May. There were no notable challenges in the registration for June examinations.

“Zimsec is well-prepared for the commencement of the examinations. We have 144 candidates for the Advanced Level exams and 32 049 candidates for the Ordinary Level examinations.

“In June 2023, we registered 26 760 Ordinary Level candidates and 288 for the Advanced Level tests.”

This year, Zimsec has pegged exam fees at US$24 and US$48 per subject for Ordinary and Advanced Level, respectively.

The fees are also payable in local currency.
