IN a bid to attract more clients and keep up with changing trends in the industry, Bulawayo’s Rainbow Hotel has set aside $350,000 for the upgrading and renovation of its building.
The hotel’s general manager, Innocent Kufa, said they were rehabilitating the hotel in order to meet the individual expectations of their clients.
He said they had opened a coffee bar to suit those who do not want to use the liquor bar.
“We’ve to move with current trends and we have opened a new look restaurant, and refurbished our floors by removing carpets for tiles.
“Those who want to smoke in their rooms can also do so,” he said.
“By the end of the year we are expecting to have spent $352,000 towards the renovations. We want to add value to our product.”
He urged other businesses to value contributions made by customers saying companies had a duty to deliver quality service to customers.
“We don’t sell ‘I don’t have’ in this hotel. If you want a product and you’re told we don’t have it approach my office you will get it for free.
“Businesses need to be consistent and deliver on their promises to their customers,” he said.
Kufa challenged Bulawayo companies to desist from overcharging customers saying this contributed to the scaling down of business.
“Companies need to respect their customers. They need to price accordingly. Some of the companies buy products for $5 in Harare and when they bring it this side they sell it for $50.
“That’s why some people opt to go to Harare to buy the same product,” he said.
Kufa expressed satisfaction with the company’s performance in the first half of the year saying they were performing above average.
RTG sales manager, Evans Zvavanhu, urged customers to take up their Rain Power Promotion, which began on April 1 and will end on November 30.
“The promotion was launched last year in Harare.
“We don’t only receive, but give as well and this year promotion is bigger and better. We have four vehicles, four residential stands and four RTG international holiday resort tickets,” he said.
Zvavanhu said the promotion is categorised and has two phases.
He said to enter the promotion one needs to spend at least $4,000 within the same period. Zvavanhu challenged locals to take advantage of the promotion saying hotels should not be for travellers and tourists only.
