Midday vote tally reaches 949 in three Vic Falls wards

VICTORIA Falls voters turned out in moderate numbers across three wards by midday today, with a total of 949 ballots cast, as polling proceeded steadily under the watchful eye of election officials.

Ward 11 led the pack with 427 votes, followed closely by Ward 10 with 293, while Ward 9 recorded 229 ballots by 12pm.

Women dominated the early voting, with 503 females casting their votes compared to 445 males, reflecting a strong female turnout in the ongoing elections.

However, not all who presented themselves were able to vote.

Election officers confirmed that 74 prospective voters were turned away across the three wards.

Reasons included presenting invalid identity documents, names not appearing on the voters’ roll, and other documentation discrepancies.

Presiding officers urged voters to present valid national identification documents to avoid disenfranchisement.
Polling is expected to continue until 7 pm, with authorities expressing confidence in a smooth electoral process.
