Another key section of the Harare-Mazowe road dualisation project has been opened to traffic, marking a milestone in the Government’s ambitious infrastructure upgrade.

The newly completed 4.9 km stretch between Christon Bank and Blueridge was met with applause from motorists who have long endured congestion on the route.

This vital artery for economic growth connects the capital to northern regions and beyond.

For daily commuters and businesses, the newly opened section promises safer, faster travel.

The opening of the road was attended by a high-level delegation, including Transport and Infrastructural Development Minister Felix Mhona, the Ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Engineer Joy Makumbe, the Minister of State for Masonaland Central Provincial Affairs and Devolution,

Christopher Magomo; and other senior Government and Zinara officials.

Over 50 000 km have been rehabilitated and reconstructed on the country’s roads since the start of the Emergency Road Rehabilitation Programme (ERRP2) in 2021.
