adminPetition, Zanu-PF provincial chairman Cde Robert Sikanyika has said. In an interview on the sidelines of Zvimba Ward 26 councilor Cde Francis Mukwangwariwa’s 40th birthday party on Sunday, Cde Sikanyika said the Anti-Sanctions petition will be launched in the province this Saturday.
“We have done a snap survey and we are expecting 440 000 to sign the petition. We have 22 constituencies and we are hoping to get 20 000 signatures from each constituency,” he said.
Cde Sikanyika hailed Cde Mukwangwariwa for empowering farmers in Zvimba District. Cde Mukwangwariwa has distributed various inputs and farming implements in the district. He described Cde Mukwangwariwa as an exemplary leader who is upholding the Zanu PF principle of putting people first.
“Good leadership is not about controlling people but it is about working with the people and delivering to the people. In Zanu PF, leaders do not own the party but it is the people who own the party, so I am happy that Cde Mukwangwariwa is leading by example and empowering the people by providing them with inputs and farm implements,” he said.
Cde Mukwangwariwa urged Zimbabweans to embrace the indigenisation and economic empowerment policies. He said Zimbabweans should benefit from the empowerment drive to fulfill the gains of the country’s hard-won independence. The function was also attended by Zvimba West legislator Cde Nelson Samkange, Chief Chimbamauro of Zvimba and Zanu PF provincial leaders.
