THE Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has shortlisted 46 candidates—including Bulawayo magistrates and hotshot lawyers—to fill just eight coveted spots on the Labour Court bench.
In a fiery Friday statement, the JSC announced interviews kick off next Monday at 9AM sharp in Harare. “Nominated candidates must show up on April 14, 2025, laptops in hand—no tech, no entry!” the statement warned.
“Top contenders will face public grilling in the final stage under Section 180 (4) (c) of Zimbabwe’s Constitution,” the JSC added, opening the doors to media and citizens.
Bulawayo’s legal eagles in the RUNNING are: Mrs Sibongile Marondedze, Mr Abednico Ndebele, Mr Sikhumbuzo Nyathi, Ms Nozabelo Ndlovu, and Mr Douglas Vakai Chikwekwe.
The JSC is racing to speed up justice and clear backlogs. Last May, they grilled 39 candidates for High Court and Administrative Court posts—replacing judges who quit, died, or got the boot. One vacancy opened after Justice Herbert Mandeya retired.
Game on for Zimbabwe’s legal heavyweights!
