A BEITBRIDGE teenager has been jailed for six months after he was found having sex with a donkey at a dumpsite in the border town.
The 18-year-old was also accused of trying to bribe the owner of the donkey with R20 to buy his silence.Munashe Chigombe of no fixed abode was convicted on his own plea of guilty to a charge of bestiality when he appeared before magistrate Gloria Takundwa yesterday.
He will serve an effective six months in jail after the magistrate suspended four months of the 10 months sentence on condition that he does not commit a similar crime in the next five years.
Prosecuting, Jabulani Mberesi told the court that on April 25, Chigombe went to a bushy area near Dulibadzimu dumpsite and found some donkeys grazing.
He was then spotted acting suspiciously by one Thomas Moyo who was looking for his donkeys.
Moyo then followed him and the teenager started having sex with one of the female donkeys.
Moyo approached him and was offered R20 to sweep the matter under the carpet.
Moyo declined the bribe and raised alarm resulting in some members of the community rushing to the scene.
Chigombe was apprehended and handed over to the police.
