IN a heart-wrenching incident, a 61-year-old man from Guyu in Matabeleland South province allegedly killed his wife in cold blood after she denied him sex.

Ndabayezulu Ncube who is on the run, was set to appear before Bulawayo High Court Judge Justice Ngoni Nduna on Monday facing a charge of murder.

In a statement, Thabiso Nkala, the victim’s son, indicated that he was stunned when he found his mother’s lifeless body in the kitchen hut.

“On the day in question, at around 7pm, l was at home together with the deceased and the accused. The two seemed to be on good terms, I retired to bed and left them in the kitchen hut.
“The next day, at around 5am, l went to the hut where the couple was sleeping and found my mother’s lifeless body in a pool of blood.

“I also noted that the accused was not at home. l went and informed Nkosentsha Ncube and Zvekare Bangira about the incident,” he said.
State allegations against Ncube are that on 19 June 2017 at around 7pm, he was at home with his wife, the deceased Nokuthula Khumalo.

The couple retired to bed and Ncube started making some sexual advances to the deceased but she turned them down citing that she was tired.

Ncube embraced Khumalo and she hit him with her elbow, this infuriated him. He slapped Khumalo and an altercation ensued resulting in him picking up a hoe and he struck the victim twice in the face.
Khumalo sustained severe injuries that led to her death. After the assault, Ncube handed himself over to the police. However, upon being released on bail, he disappeared.
