SEVEN passengers were injured after an Inter Africa bus veered off the road while negotiating a sharp curve along Kwirire-Kurwaisimba Road in Chimanimani on Monday.
Acting Manicaland provincial police spokesperson, Assistant Inspector Wiseman Chinyoka, confirmed the accident, and identified the driver as Moses Chimbwa (51), of Zengeza, Chitungwiza.
He said the accident occurred at around 5pm when Chimbwa was driving an Inter Africa bus, with seven passengers on board.
“On September 29 at around 5pm, Chimbwa was driving an Inter Africa along Kwirire- Kurwaisimba Road with seven passengers on board,” said Assistant Inspector Chinyoka.
He said upon reaching the 90km peg, the driver failed to maintain proper control of the bus while negotiating a sharp curve.
The bus subsequently veered off the road.
The seven passengers were taken to Machongwe Clinic in Chimanimani District for treatment.
Assistant Inspector Chinyoka urged motorists, particularly public transport operators, to exercise caution when approaching sharp curves.
