ORGANISERS of the annual Honde Valley Marathon are expecting a robust event this year despite the withdrawal of principal corporate partner – NetOne – with last week’s official launch setting in motion preparations for the 2026 edition.
This year’s event is scheduled for November 21.
One of the organisers, Alois Bunjira, said they are expecting a huge turnout.
“The Honde Valley Marathon 2026 edition has officially been launched and we are expecting a bigger number of participants than in the previous years. This is now its fourth year running and since its launch, participation has increased almost three-fold every year. Officially, the preparations begin now so that we build momentum to another memorable event,” he said.
Bunjira said they are continuing their collaboration with some of the old corporate partners while also welcoming new ones on board.
He added that a live performance by musician Nox Guni and various other entertainment activities have been lined up to add colour to the event.
